At Earthfix, we are committed to finding innovative and sustainable solutions for some of the largest environmental issues facing our planet, including food, energy, water, and waste. Our waste management division plays a crucial role in this effort, as we work to create a circular economy that reduces waste and promotes sustainable development.
As part of our waste management efforts, Earthfix recycles a range of materials, including concrete, topsoil, clean fill, unsuitable soil, green waste, and non-contaminated vacuum excavation mud. These materials are processed in our state-of-the-art facilities to produce a range of high-quality products, including concrete blocks and crushed concrete, as well as organic soil products.
Our innovative approach to waste management helps to reduce the amount of waste that ends up in landfills, which not only reduces our carbon footprint but also helps to conserve natural resources and reduce the cost of waste management. By converting waste materials into useful products, we are helping to create a more sustainable future for generations to come.
In addition to our waste management efforts, Earthfix also offers a range of other sustainable solutions for food, energy, and water, including renewable energy production and water conservation. Our commitment to sustainability and our commitment to providing innovative solutions make us a leader in the effort to create a more sustainable and cost-effective future for our planet.

Material Descriptions
What is Clean Fill?
Clean fill is waste material, generally collected from construction projects, that can be repurposed for future projects. To be classified as clean fill the waste material must NOT contain (in isolation or combination) dirt, cement, concrete, gravel, brick, topsoil, sand, and rubble. As such, it CANNOT include organic or biological waste, glass, fibreglass, metals, cardboard, paper, contaminants and contaminated soil (combustible, radioactive, noxious, poisonous, or combustible materials, materials tainted by chemicals, spilled, oil, or other contaminants), household waste, hazardous products and consumer products (electronics, batteries, rubber, tyres, and toxic chemicals).
What is Green Waste?
Green waste can be considered organic waste or garden waste; any biodegradable materials that grow in your garden are classed as green waste. This includes things such as Grass clippings, Hedge trimmings, Branches, Plants, Flowers, Leaves.
Green Waste & Timber must be free from chemically treated timbers & other contamination i.e., metals, plastics, masonry & chemicals etc.
What is Unsuitable Fill?
Unsuitable soil follows the same classification as clean fill but may contain organic matter or high levels of moisture.
What is Clean Concrete?
Clean concrete waste includes any leftover concrete slurry, concrete blocks, or other concrete waste that is not contaminated with other materials.
Size must be less than 600mm x 600mm otherwise the load will be classified as oversized concrete
What is Dirty Concrete?
Contaminated concrete usually contains one or more materials from the worksite that have made their way into the stockpile, excavator, or truck. However, some materials (like plastic) may have been part of the construction. Dirty concrete MUST NOT contain one or more of the following: Large amounts of plastic, Large amounts of dirt, Timber, trees, and grass and or Rubbish. (If this does occur it will be classed as C&D waste)
